Description

Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti

Released: 1975 | Swan Song Records | SSK 89400 | US Pressing | Double LP

The monumental sixth studio album from Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti was released in February 1975 and became the band’s first album on their own Swan Song Records label. A sprawling double album, it captures Led Zeppelin at the height of their creative powers and encompasses virtually every side of the band’s sound.

Recorded across several years, the album brings together new material with songs developed from earlier sessions. The result is remarkably diverse, moving from the hard-driving Custard Pie and The Rover to the acoustic beauty of Bron-Yr-Aur, the epic Kashmir, the bluesy In My Time of Dying and the swaggering Trampled Under Foot.

The iconic sleeve, featuring the photograph of a New York apartment building with interchangeable inner artwork, has become one of rock’s most recognisable designs. With its exceptional breadth, heavyweight performances and landmark tracks, Physical Graffiti remains one of Led Zeppelin’s definitive albums.
