Description
Blind Faith – Blind Faith
Released: 1969 | Polydor Records | NZ Pressing | LP comes with uncensored cover!
The legendary self-titled debut from Blind Faith, the supergroup formed by Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech. Released in 1969, the album brought together four major figures from the British blues and rock scene at the height of the late-1960s rock era.
Recorded in just a few weeks, Blind Faith combines blues, rock and progressive influences, moving from the powerful opening track Had to Cry Today through the atmospheric Can’t Find My Way Home and the extended blues workout Sea of Joy. The album closes with the expansive Presence of the Lord, one of Clapton’s most significant compositions of the period.
The striking original cover, photographed by Bob Seidemann, became one of the most controversial and recognisable sleeves of the era. Inside, the record captures a unique meeting of Clapton’s guitar, Winwood’s vocals and keyboards, Baker’s distinctive drumming and Grech’s bass and violin.
